What is the max number of channels generally needed for giant scale?

9 channels seems to be sufficient for most any giant scale airplane up to 40% if you want a dedicated channel for every servo. Technically, you could get away with using a simple 5 channel radio and a servo matching system, but you'd be limited with the functions you can use. There's guys in...

That is something I have considered doing. It's a more reliable engine kill I suppose.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Did a little surgery on the Multiplex Rockstar tonight, elevator servo was acting a little funny. I think I biffed it when the wind caught it on landing on Sunday, going to get it checked out tomorrow.

Post your servo, receiver, and battery setups

Me personally, I don't use them. I have seen every single electronic killswitch fail out there, from the cheapies all the way up to the high end 'fail-on' style switches, and they always seem to fail right at the worst possible instance. It's almost a catch 22 though. Risk losing control over...

    Pilot RC 122" Extra 330SC

Crankshaft: Pinwheel: A poptop, but on its side. The Snake: Funnel: A cross between a harrier and a flatspin, either upright or inverted. Use throttle to climb or maintain altitude.

In this instance..... My servo was at full throttle as I was climbing up through a rolling loop :eek::eek::eek: Somehow, I was able to reestablish power to the receiver just long enough to get the airplane on approach and kill the engine, as soon as I touched down I saw the other half of...

Post your servo, receiver, and battery setups

I have the left side of the airplane on the left receiver, and the right side of the airplane on the right receiver. Since I run dual rudder servos in a tray, I run one rudder servo on each receiver, so I can at least maintain some level of control in the event one receiver loses link or shuts...

Post your servo, receiver, and battery setups

Yeah I'm kind of stumped as to what the issue could be with those servos. I'm still kind of going back and forth with him on that. I would like to update this, I am now running a pair of Maxima 9 receivers, one for each side of the airplane.

    Hitec servo help

Correct, I don't use anything other than servos connected directly to dual receivers. Try the servos without the smart fly system first to see what they do.

    Hitec servo help

Interesting. Servos are a mass produced product so there is going to be a defective one here and there as a result, it's always best to contact us beforehand to discuss what your options are as far as getting a servo that works. If it's getting hot that could be a sign that something is either...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

It was windy here today, started off dead calm but got to 20+ constant by 10:30. Had a little mishap on landing with the Rockstar that resulted in nothing more than a broken prop :oblong: otherwise an uneventful day.

Maxima 9 channel receiver for 9x

That would have definitely been in the first production run so definitely a good idea to send it in.

Maxima 9 channel receiver for 9x

First production we found a minor bug but it has since been resolved. I personally run 2 Maxima 9's in my 100cc that I fly every weekend, no issues to speak of. If you are questioning it then send it into us and we can check it and replace it if it's an early production unit.

    RIP Azhar from Aztech Aeromodels

I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Wenatchee Huck last year, and though I never really spoke to him all that much, he seemed to be a very friendly and lighthearted guy that looked like he was always helping people out. Nothing but a team of Class A pilots at his hand well, which I think...
