The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I’ve been building a lot of stuff from Angel Wing Designs this last year. The kits are quite fun to build, this one is a micro Runt (ridge runt). Built the SOAS, Micro Runt, and a micro Aquila being constructed. For stuff under 250g they are nice quality kits and did I mention fun???

I've used something like this little plug before: https://extremeflightrc.com/Small-Anodized-Fuel-Vent--Blue_p_8193.html Been told not to cut my line at a 45 to prevent siphoning. Overall I normally just let it hangout an inch or so.

Since you said the left cylinder is getting more oil than the right, the left cylinder has no compression, and the hot ignition box makes me think of a few scenarios. 1. Ignition failing due to temperature and lack of airflow cooling. Install a blast air hose from the cowl inlet baffle for...

To me the easiest solution would be to get a set screw throttle arm like this: https://www.valleyviewrc.com/throttle-arms-671 Orient it so the servo pulls the throttle arm down towards the rudder pedals Install the throttle servo on the back side of the firewall below the fuel tank on it's side...

Time for an STC for a PA-18 wing tanks. . . It's hard for me to envision the fuel tank size/style to see what you're dealing with. Bellcrank on the bottom so you can run a linkage under the floor to under a seat for the throttle servo location. . .? Cut a hole in the firewall to recess the...

If it makes you feel any better I built a CG Super Chipmunk and went through three nitro engine swaps... (TT75 2cy, Saito72, Saito100) ended up selling it to a buddy WHO CONVERTED IT TO ELECTRIC :lol2: before it ever flew. He let me fly it!

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I've been following along too!! So much fun right there. I love the collaboration and shared expertise on this forum, so much less drama here! I've had an idea to remake the cub gear on my timber so it sits about 3" taller while using carbon rods instead of the steel gear it has currently. Could...

Sure thing! My flying buddy was with me when it happened and we both just looked at each other dumb founded :trance::errrr: It'll be a bit when I can get to it since I have two other planes mid build (Micro Nova Glider, and a 104" NG). Just finished and flew my 120" TBM which is a good flier...

Kevlar should be better in compression loads than carbon fiber but that's quite the layup! Should be super duper strong!

Thanks Guys, It'll fly again! Stripping off the covering was just for looks. Ali sandblasted the protoype and I liked the look so I rolled with the idea. A lot of stol cubdrivers are doing it as well.

Well sometimes depth perception gets the best of us and ya know… it was my turn. I was decending from the white clouds “inside” the tree line and for one second I thought “I’m kinda close to those….SMACK” about 100ft up and hanging from a branch wedged in the elevator counterbalance gap was my...
