Thanks Guys, It'll fly again!

Stripping off the covering was just for looks. Ali sandblasted the protoype and I liked the look so I rolled with the idea. A lot of stol cubdrivers are doing it as well.

I kind of like it covered as it matches the red on the belly.

Well sometimes depth perception gets the best of us and ya know… it was my turn. I was decending from the white clouds “inside” the tree line and for one second I thought “I’m kinda close to those….SMACK” about 100ft up and hanging from a branch wedged in the elevator counterbalance gap was my beloved Timber. Stuck in a tree. I evaluated the scenario and told myself it’s time to claim defeat and call a tree service to perform an extraction. They said they were busy but knew a guy who could help if I paid him some cash ($100) and said let’s do it. I handed that guy $200 after seeing how much care he gave to my plane and how tricky it was. We were both happy as it just started to rain.

The undercarriage needs the most work along with the fuselage. The servo motor burned out - rightfully so! Holding a 20# plane for that long. Hung up the fuselage for now.

This happened earlier this spring just never posted it yet.

Wow Nick, you really missed that one sorry to see that. Hopefully it will back in the air soon. Mine is still flying but just have not had it out yet this year. Still enjoy flying it.
at least you get the chance to fix the strut attachment point on fuse properly.

Sure thing! My flying buddy was with me when it happened and we both just looked at each other dumb founded
It'll be a bit when I can get to it since I have two other planes mid build (Micro Nova Glider, and a 104" NG). Just finished and flew my 120" TBM which is a good flier. Need to get more time on the sticks with it, but it's a comfortable flying platform and very capable - as for now, my 110" Timber floats better but stalls worse IMO.

Need to get more time on the sticks with it, but it's a comfortable flying platform and very capable - as for now, my 110" Timber floats better but stalls worse IMO.

I love my 60" Extra NG. Can only imagine the bigger one is even better.

You may have noticed I am building a Taylor craft at 120 inch. Scratch build with my friend Luc. Enjoying the collaboration and skill he is bringing to the table.

I've been following along too!! So much fun right there. I love the collaboration and shared expertise on this forum, so much less drama here!
I've had an idea to remake the cub gear on my timber so it sits about 3" taller while using carbon rods instead of the steel gear it has currently. Could be a fun experiment.

That is of great interest to me often thought of it but never came up with a connection that I believed would do the job, like to see what you come up with.

After a few months waiting in the workshop for me to take care of it, my timber 110 is finally flying again.
We had a lot of fun on last friday with some friends in Normandy after a very light snow fall.

Landing gear has been modified to allow to fit a canister for our neighbors ears when towing.

I've mounted 200mm airtop baloon wheels and a set of nav and landing lights.

It's a dream to fly, and the short landings are a real pleasure

Just a shame it's discontinued, i'd have loved to find a spare cowl.
