Dang! Kids are flying younger and the planes are getting bigger!! I'm sure technology has a lot to do with it, Way to go Evan! I started RC when I was about 12 and reaching heights like this were unheard of!! Of course I couldn't afford the propeller back then anyways ha! Cool man! Don't forget...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

Yes even the best equipment can fail... That's all I've been buying as well. It's a great product.

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

Ok, so after another unwanted extensive ground run it transitions much smother and much more power. However it still does not want to idle. So I started looking into it... Timing was pretty retarded, maybe 36btdc. So I adjusted it to about 28-30btdc. Each cylinder is about 2-3 degrees different...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

Futaba R6208SB, brand spankin new. Curious if the Tech Aero was emitting feed back causing the brief interruption. I soldered two leads (Y-Harness with two Rx plugs and on Deans batt plug) to from the battery deans connector to the receiver to share the load, so I don't think it had a bad...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

So I flew my 71" slick, and a few different airplanes with no issues. I re-orientated the antennas in the Laser, range check no problem. I flew for eight minutes, was in a semi-knife edge pass (going the other direction this time) about the same distance (roughly 100-150 yards) and I got locked...

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

No I believe you! Why else would the mfgr say do a 20 min ground run!?!? It must be unique to this size of gas engine. As long as it's running rich with a higher oil content, and it's not scorching outside... I'd rather do a long ground run, then have an unreliable idle to land/fly my airplane...

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

oh boy... just what I need... 1gal = 8oz/10min at a time = 16 tanks and 2.5hours of flying later.... wow.

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

ha ha! I'm kind of wondering if they say to do a long ground run like this because it will accelerate the break-in time exponentially for this little twin for a more reliable idle? I've ran an 8oz tank through it pretty rich, and it's producing a lot of black sludge... It seems to have improved...

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

I didn't do the 20min breakin ground run like they said to do... maybe that's an idea. seems like a looooong ground run ha ha

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

Fired up the RCGF 21cc twin. I like it... except I cannot seem to get a reliable idle once brought down from full throttle. It will instantly die once the stick gets to idle. I richened the LSN and it just sounds rough, and emits a smoke cloud.... so I went the other way and although a very high...

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

I have actually worked on the full scale carbon cub, the only carbon in it is mainly fuselage stringers, upholstery, and the engine cowling. The rest is comprised of plastic fuel & brake lines (light sport model), lots of CNC aluminum parts, ultralight fabric on the top of the wing, and the lack...

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

Thanks guys. The RCGF engine barely fits in the cowl because the cowling tapers inward as it goes aft. (I think that makes sense).. so you kinda have to put it on at an angle while gently squeezing it oblong while messing around with the exhaust pipes. note that the cowling sits aft a little...

Most Excellent! I led a worship band for a couple years and then kinda got burnt out when my pianist left town :( With some musicians it just clicks, and it's been hard finding a replacement that has their heart set on the same style and worship. So I played (acoustic guitar and vocals) by...
