    Working on tail feathers this weekend. Shave a flat side on a dowel, then a slit in the flat side, then soak in water for 2 days, then fit to form, then break some. :oops:

    Tapped the prop shaft and out comes the crank. Probably need to replace bearings since I'm this deep.

    My little Unimat is too small for everyday cutting but is perfect for little model airplane parts I believe. Now to convince myself to buy a bigger lathe which I have little need for. One of these days......

    I assumed any generator would work. My new club had no electricity for a couple of years and there were many generators running on the weekends.

    The scroll saw? I like it, heavy and smooth. Speed control slows the blade down to just a crawl. I bought used on eBay, $200 or less.

    Bought a pinless scroll saw off eBay a couple of months ago. Tired of so few blade options on my cheap saw. Anyway, i wanted heavy and quality so found a Delta. Finally finished reassembling it and took a test drive. Smooth with adjustable speed, I like it.

    I can't wait until I convince myself to buy a bigger lathe. The little Unimat is going to be great for small stuff but that's all.
