As you can see, progress continues. Some of the formers are too narrow, so the stringers end up outside the notches (who knew it would be good to have the notches NOT line up so I can glue the stringers to the edge of the bad formers?).

And, of course, the stringers don't always go in a straight line. It's amazing to me that things are this far off!

OKAY, ENOUGH COMPLAINING! That's the end of the complaining about this build!!

From now on, it's all going to be positive...

You know, the more I look at your photos as the build goes along............. No wonder you aren't happy.

Working on making the structure strong and sheeting where I can. Part of the fuse strength will be from some support bracing and also adding a floor to the fuselage. I do have to leave some of it open for wing, stab, and fin installation.

Have you ever tried strip planking method for sheeting? See pdf below. This is my Cherokee 140 that was redone several years ago. If I did it again I would increase the sheeting thickness by one size then sand a little more. All in all it worked well.

You can do some really curvy shapes using planking. I did it on my scratch build 30's racer and it's got lots of curves!

I made a tool for beveling the edges using a Master Airscrew Balsa Striper. Beveling gives you better joints. I used CA to attach the planks to the framework, and Sig Sigment to glue the joints between the planks. The Sigment sands really well.
