I don;t think you can go wrong with either Redline or Stihl Ultra. Many years ago, legendary engine guru "TiredOldMan" said they were essentially equal but gave Stihl Ultra the nod for heat tolerance. For me it's just easier to get the Stihl Ultra.

Yep. Redline only for this kid. Since going from stihl to redline I have had 0 problems with my engines.
Take the lawnboy and amsoil and use for fire starter in your firepit.

Nothing major. When running stihl I noticed a lot of carbon build up on the head when I changed out the rings. I also sometimes have long periods between flying and the stihl/gas mix seemed to congeal a little more in the carb and I would have to flip the prop a lot to get the engine to fire. With the redline I've noticed less carbon and starting after several months were much easier, in fact normal. 5 or 6 flips on choke, fire, then a couple more flips and running.
Bottom line, Stihl ran fine for me but Redline probably suites my needs better.

......Here is one of the pistons in my DA 120 running Redline 32:1 (other piston is the same) after about 23 gallons........

I wish I had a dollar for every oil or oil/gas thread on these websites!! Anyway, since I can't look away from a good trainwreck, I'll chime in. I use Redline, 40:1.

I had a plane with a DA170 that I flew for a couple of years before it bit the dust. When it did, it popped one of the heads off of the motor. When I tore it down the rest of the way, I was very surprised to see that there was no carbon buildup on the piston tops. None. There was just a little on the top of the cylinder, around the spark plug, but you could scrape it off with your fingernail. You could easily see the arrow on the piston tops, pointing towards the exhaust ports. Inside the motor was clean as a whistle, but I would expect that in any motor, since there's no combustion below the piston.
