Hatches are easy. No thought involved really the way I do them. Just center it between R1 and R2. I like the front of it to be about 1/2” back from the main spar and on a plane that size I like it to be at least 3” square if not 4” square so there’s plenty of room to reach my hand inside. So with all that said literally draw it out on the sheeting after the wing is framed up. Cut out what you have just drawn. On the removed hatch sand all the edges down slightly so it will fit once covered and then on the front of it glue some 1/8” balsa on the bottom to act as a catch. Then use some more 1/8” balsa to go all around the opening in the wing to frame it out and have a ledge for it to sit on. Easy peasy. Normally takes me about five minutes from start to finish on doing a hatch.

@BalsaDust have you ever thought of trying to in stall a tank in the wing. Believe we only need a 10-oz tank what are your thoughts.

Have thought about it but would be a lot of work to me as then fuel lines would have to be disconnected when breaking the plane down. 10 ounces should be plenty. Last 20cc plane I had had a 12oz tank on it and I would make two 8 minute flights on one tank before filling back up and there was prolly enough left in it to get a third flight.

I wouldn’t go smaller than 10oz. Seems to me there isn’t enough flex in the fuel lines for aerobatics, clunk no clunky in a short tank.

So I ran across some servos I had purchased a while back that had a good reputation for cheap slab servos.

In slower stuff the 770's will be fine but when you start carrying higher energy they will get blow back. They are the perfect servo for a 40 or 50 sized slab but once you get to the 60 size which would be 20cc or 120 two stroke glow they are a little lacking

Yup. If looking for low cost look at either of these. They are a bit slower than a lot of things out there but I have used both with great success. Center great no slop and easy on the budget.

I had the LF20's in the big 55cc version of this for a while and they did great but would start to get blow back at high speeds so they got upgraded to some nice Savox servos.

I think I’ll try something a little quicker. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews with PHD servos. I’ve been itching to try out some KST or Promodelers.

Also. Not sure if 6.6 A123 would end up a little heavy in comparison to a little LiPo
