Thank you for your input. I will review your good recommendations. One more question.. As my packs are not high out put, do you discharg packs fully charged but not used in a weeks time?

What I can tell you is that if you're not going to use the 2s Lipo then discharging them to storage voltage (3.85v per cell) is the best method to prolong the life of the cells and ensure that they give off their maximum power. Mostly any computerized charger with a built in balancer function will have a 'STORAGE' capability. All you have to do is plug in the battery and set the current/cell count and it'll do the rest. I do it with every battery after a weekends worth of flying, but having a slew of chargers makes things a bit easier (5 if you count my iChargers 2 channel output) ;)

If you're just looking for the BASIC of BASIC chargers that still has 'high end' functions:

Turnigy Accucel-6
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=18066

I have 2 of them. They're great chargers, though I did get rid of the horrible 12v input jack and instead soldered some 12AWG wire directly to the board (the 12v jack limits the power output).

Hitec X1
http://www.amain.com/Hitec-X1-AC-Pl...1C8jD5sX4_qHVzXsP9xxRFY6WYH4r5rpLgaAozz8P8HAQ

Same exact functions as the Turnigy Accucel-6 but has AC input.

I have both of them, and they both work awesome.

I can't tell you much about the LiFe batteries since I don't have experience with them.
