3DHobbyShop 51" AJ Slick

3dhs is out of the landing gear for the slick 51. Anyone know of any aftermarket gear that will work. looked at espirit but not sure how good they are.

Someone bent an Aluminum rod for their gear....

I have made gear for a 51 out of 3/4" x 1/8". Aluminum bar stock. A 3 or 4' piece costs about a buck fifty. All I did was bend it to match the original gear. Then drill some holes. Then paint it black.

Then when 3dhs has the gear in stock you can buy it but the aluminum can tide you over until then.

We're pretty happy we're getting a lot of traffic too....and hope we can just get bigger and better!!

Well, we planned to walk the first few days, but within hours we had to sprint, and haven't slowed down yet!

On a sad note, I punctured my aileron covering moving my 51" in the garage yesterday. argh... time for a patch repair.

I know that one.... I was opening up the holes in the sides of my new Velox when my hot knife slipped....ticked me off to no end!!!

Don't you hate when that happens!!!!!!!!! it's like getting in a big dent in your car and not even having the keys iin the ignition. LOL

Here is my post from earlier this year regarding the 55" Edge LG on the 51" Slick:

So here's my report on the 55" Edge LG fitting the 51" Slick: it works. Not too much to mod. The 55" Edge LG is just a bit wider than the LG bay on the 51" Slick so I cut two pieces of lite ply to function as a spacer. Also had to measure holes in the 55" Edge LG to match the holes in the 51" Slick LG block. Pictures tell the story. Let me know if you have any questions. This sure beats waiting until the 51" Slick LG is in stock. The standard 3mm SCS cap screws were too short, so I used 3Mx20mm SCS screws instead.

FYI, www.TrimcraftAviationRC.com is a great place to get these kinds of screws and other hardware for really good prices and reasonable shipping.
