3DHS 70" Velox

I found that if I sanded the inside of the cowl with some 100 grit sandpaper or a dremel sanding drum ever so slightly that it fits much better. I had a few high spots in the fiberglass and once I smoothed it out it slipped on nicely. My wing tube was quite tight initially but after about 30 flights it loosened up a touch and fits snug, but easily now. Perfect.

You are talking about the top side of the cowl? I'll try that.

I did get a maiden in late yesterday, right at dark so only 6 minutes with a couple minutes of good trimming. I had to CG way to far forward for one, pretty nose heavy and I knew the 18x8 prop would be a dog...it was on a 8s 310kv setup, actually I thought it was a 330kv.
It is not a slick!! flys more like an extra. tracks nice, really slices through the wind, it was a little breezy yesterday. couple poptops no problem, enters KE spin easy and exits inverted very nice. A few flip turns were a little off, have to try those again. Seems to hover nicely even though it was windy. But harrier!! WOW. It'll lock in quickly and hold it.

To short of a flight to get in a whole lot of stuff.

Can you take a pic of all your 30CC planes together? Including the Velox? :D

All I have now is the velox, 72, and 74. Sold some, lost the 71. And ofcourse the 87 :) :) Except for the beater 51, I'm slickless!

Well, my Velox build has been slowed a little, as the CC Ice 100 I plugged in decided to puff out the magic smoke

So, I sent the ESC and the BEC pro that it shorted out back to Castle, and while they wouldn't tell me exactly what failed (and caused the "smoke-out") they are doing the right thing and sending me replacements.
However, I've decided to use a ZTW HV 100a OPTO ESC instead, as I've had many successful flights with an identical ESC on my 70" Slick.
(I'll still use the BEC pro)
