Took the edge up for a couple more flights on the DA35. Love the power, love the flight times.
Removed the wheels and wheel pants, installed some 3.5” FlyWheelz. Had to make a little bushing to fit inside the wheel bushing to accommodate the stock gear. Added a little Velcro fiber washer to keep the friction constant.
The black bushing was actually the other way around in the end.
Got to the field and we’ll shoot, my choke linkage grub screw vibrated out. So removed the linkage completely. Was able to manually close and open the valve through the interior/firewall.
Man... this plane is responsive, crazy roll rate, crazy everything. Love me a hyper plane. Has some intense coupling to thegear in a KE and the top/rh wing rotates more than the top/LH wing. Was getting this dialed in when... Crack!! What the???
A black bear was about 200ft from me with a cub chowing down on some greens. So I landed quickly and stayed alert. She walked towards me once but never within 150ft. She didn’t seem to mind me at all. #alaskaproblems
She was off to my direct left.
Needless to say, I broke my tailwheel AGAIN. Time for a better solution. Thinking of using a Sullivan tailwheel bracket.
