No, I installed the ailerons the same way you did. I also touched up some of the exposed wood from removing the covering with high gloss ultra white latex paint and it made a noticable cleaner look. The plane is starting to shape up now and and I really like the green scheme. I will be doing some black and white checkering for graphics on the wing tips and rudder from B&E at some point along with some other custom graphics. Black stripes on the underside of the wings and elevator halves to break it up as well. I am waiting on my batteries at this point from Taildragger and that should wrap everything up with the exception of cutting out the cowl and a some minor wiring cleanup with foam wire keepers. @TeamRedwingRC guys... Your loyalty is noted. I am mostly happy with the plane and build as I'm sure it will be a standout once everything is finished, including graphics. The slots in the horizontal stabs are too far inboard regardless of what you want to call it. If they were pushed outboard 1/4-5/16ths, they would accommodate all servo/arm situations. The Chinese evidently use extra low profile servos when measuring slot cutout locations. I found another thread where someone had to do the same on the aileron boxes on this plane. I have not built an EF, 3DHS, or others mentioned so I can't compare builds and I'm sure they have their fair share of minor build issues as well coming from the same part of the world. I brought this to attention because from a QC standpoint, communication on these things will ultimately make a superior product. Defending design flaws will never make them go away. Redwing has been a pleasure to deal with and I will likely buy from them again at some point due to their seemingly honest and up front approach on their products. A very noble approach to business these days. Chad at Taildragger RC receives 5 stars as well. I will put up some photos when complete. I wanted to do a build thread but time these days is hard to come by for me. On another note, the XQ4020 servos centered amazingly well with no sub trim and are very smooth. Excited to see how well they perform in the air.
Sorry for the novel btw...
