Many people have found the DM 5320-330kv wind great on 6s. I also think Hacker makes a great 6s wind motor too.

Who and what prop? I've never heard of anyone flying 3d on a 6s 330kv. I run a 330 on 8s with a 19x8 or 20x8. Seems the best kv for 6s is at least 380, I think some liking a 400-420kv, not going less. I would check with Ken at Subsonic first.

Hey Rob I just pulled this data off of Subsonic Planes Website. I would assume that it could be taken for face value?

DM5320-330

3D Planes up to 13 lbs.
Sport Planes up to 18 lbs.

6s Lipo 2300 W
8s Lipo 2800 W

19x10 to 20x10 on 6s
18x8 to 19x8 on 8s

Maybe the winding would need to be changed? This is the data that got me thinking about this 6s v. 8s thing in the first place.

I sent a text to my friend Drew (gapple12) who has a 74" with a hacker motor, and has flown it on both 6 and 8s. He'll swing by here soon and offer his thoughts on this subject :)

OK, I started off running 8S (2 4S 3800 in series) on a 18x8 prop with CC 100AMP ESC, Hacker A50-12L motor. The plane was ballistic fast and a rocket, but not enough prop for 3D. I was also pushing close the the limit of the ESC around 90 AMPS. That being said, going to a bigger prop was NOT an option on 8S. So, I got some 6S 5000 packs and lots of props. I tried 18x10, 19x10, and a 20x10, all Xoar wood electric props. The prop that was best in my opinion is the Xoar 20x10 for 3D. Its quick with this prop and makes this plane a BLAST to 3D. Its almost effortless.

Also, Joe Smith flies this plane on 6S 5000 packs and a Hacker A60-6XS. I believe I heard its his favorite plane to fly.

Yes the 12L is a burner on 8s, that's because the motor has a higher kv(stated 355kv), but it is the recommended motor for 6s. The 14L is the recommended motor for 8s( Hacker motor).

I had a 12l on my 74 on 8s that didn't last very long. Huge difference than the Scorpion 330kv 4025-16 I was running on 8s, both with a 18x8 prop.

The a60-6xs is a 370kv motor and is fitted for 6s. The a60-5xs is the 295kv rated for 8s. This one would be great on 8s but gets pricey at $215. The 5320 at $200. Both proven, many of us happy with the 5320. Thsi plane ImO does need some weight up front.
