Here's some pics from the RE-2 installation. I removed the covering from over the cooling holes in the bottom of the fuselage. The RE-2 mount fit perfect.

I had a chance to fly the Freestyle this weekend with the RE-2 and really enjoyed it. The DA-60 already provided a lot of power but with the RE-2 installed it's even more power. It was a little nose heavy with the Large J-TEC Pitts, with the RE-2 the CG moved back a little to far. I have plenty of room to move the A123 forward in the fuselage. I will give another report after I move the battery forward.

Is there anybody who put a DA 50 in there Freestyle? If so, did you go with 3" standoffs? For the plane to have the 6 7/8" dimension from the firewall to prop drive requires 3 1/8" standoffs.

Mine is almost done, got the SWB servo arms today and the fuel tank from B&E Graphics. Need to mount the tank and build some servo wire extensions and she'll be ready for the maiden.

What did you use to keep the extension from falling back in to the fuselage? I am thinking of using tie straps around the fwd stab tube sleeve in the fuse.

Is the offset rudder horn needed or will a straight one work?

I'm thinking that it would work. I personally used the offset one. If your worrying about deflection of the rudder, don't worry. It's super affective despite how small it looks as compared to the large airframe.
