I uncovered the ruder. Found all the glue joints tight. I had to reinforce the ruder by cros bracing it. So much for light construction. My son came by on his way to a dog trials. I put the plane together for him so he could see it.
Got the ruder re covered and painted. Still straight and feels solid so far.
Found some leather at Hobby Lobby. Got a 1/2 yard for $4.99. They didn't have a Stitching Awl. Guess I'll have to keep looking.

Very nice job on the the dummy engine! Those Rotary engines always amazed me with the crank bolted the the firewall and the prop to the engine case and the whole thing spinning.

The first outrunner engines. Not just for foamies!

I installed the ignition and the IBEC today. What you can't tell by the pictures is that I have a 1/2 in piece of foam under the ignition. other then that I never use zip ties because the plastic transfers vibration. On The IBEC. I plugged it into channel 5 in the receiver and set the switch to work with off being toward me. that way if you stick your finger between the switches You wont accidentally bump it off. The othe rend just plugs into the ignition lead. I stuck the on off indicator light in between the two switches. I bet it'll give the pilot a scary eary glow.

Today started out with Shoveling snow so I can go to the Club meeting and the last indoor fly. Snow was mostly gone by the time I got back home this afternoon.
Got my Tail Dragger RC 20 gage servo wire out and made the aileron Extensions. 6 different pieces for both sides. Then I set up max throw on the surfaces. This finished the basic set up in the transmitter. Then I made the choke rod. My laser pointer went out so I had to use a stick to line up the Excess hole. Got it right the second time. LOL. Then I put the plane together so I can make up the flying wires. No scale stuff here just some 2-56 pull pull cables from Du Bro.
Should be getting the stencils next week. May be finished by next weekend.

Looks like it may be ready this weekend. If not then the week after.

Finished up the flying wires. Made up the tail skid. Plumbed the fuel tank but ran short on fuel line for the vent hose. I'll finish that tomorrow. Art Frye has some so he'll save me a trip to the LHS.
I also got the Sewing Awl in the mail yesterday. Time top learn how to sew. LOL.

I'm going to be at Mississinewa flying field this coming Saturday to start repair of the damage from four wheelers, and helping put post around the field to stop vehicles from getting on it.
