Best size trailer?

Got a 6x12 vnose and like it. My trailblazer with the i6 pulls it fine. I put in a mid shelf that easily holds a 30% an my son and i coud put 2 inflatable single beds on the floor. Worked well at nall last year.

Hmmm, got room for another inflatable? LOL.... How did you put your middle shelf in? Just curious.

Keep in mind the places you need to tow your trailer. I flew at a field for awhile that had a sharp turn into a narrow gate. The guys with trailers had a helluva time making that turn. About the only way to do it, even with a small trailer was to go past the gate and back the trailer in. Many guys ended up just parking along the road and unloading there. So bigger is better, as long as you can fit it where it needs to go.

Id like to have gone to a 16' tandem axel, but I opted for the 14' single axel v nose, which get me 15.5' in the center of the trailer. My trailer is 6.5' tall and 6' wide.

If I would have went 16' or longer, I surely would have gotten a 7 or 8.5' wide trailer.

@stangflyer Rob. Here are a couple of pic's I took today of the trailer shelf, between our Monsoon downpours in the Republic of Carolina.
Not claiming to have the greatest imagination or carpentry skills but one pic shows the mid-deck location. Pretty much runs from the side door to the back doors. I used some commercial carpet to cover the floor and deck area, top and bottom to dampen vibration and protect the birds from hangar rash. Used the cheapest, lightest ply for the mid-deck floor. Trying to keep things light. Second pic shows one of the two 2x4's attached to a U truss support the I picked up at Lowes. I screwed into the wall of the trailer and dropped the 2x4's in. I use one screw into each end of the 2x4s through the U support to keep them from popping out. Easy/quick to install and remove if I need to take out the mid-deck out. For sleeping(not shown) I have a elevated bed frame made out of 2x2's with 1/8 ply wood that the inflatable mattress sits on. I designed it to accommodate a second inflatable on the floor with room, on the side and underneath for the inflatable mattress and person to stretch out. works well for my son and I, and we are not tiny people, I'm 6'2" and he is 6'4".

Very cool. That's kind of what I have in mind for my trailer. Only exception will be I plan to make it roll out. The thought is, I will use garage door track to run both sides from rear door to side door. At the end on the side door I will block the channel off. The end at the rear door will be a small opening in both channels. The shelf itself will have castors/rollers on both sides front and rear. When I want to load the trailer, lift rear of shelf after floor planes are in and situated, pull out and set end down on rear door. Secure floor planes, load planes on shelf and secure. Lift end of shelf, push back into trailer and lower into channel. Now if I want the shelf out completely, like yours I plan to build it light enough one person can: lift, pull...remove.

This is in my head, mind you. Keep in mind there have been times in the past that I've had things in my head and it didn't work out so well.
I wanted to see your design because I'm open to ideas and wanting to see what others are doing. Thank you so much for taking the time to send the pics.
Your design is pretty much the way I want mine. Carpet and all. Only difference will be the roll out feature.
