Tony,

Just curious... All up, I mean everything. Tx, and everything how much $ doing you think you have into your setup. 12G's ish?

Patrick,

If you are looking at having that plane professionally built the answer is yes, your looking at around 12k. If you have the ability to build it yourself you can save around 2k depending on how you choose to power the plane. The beauty of the PRO is that it flies very well with a 150,170, and the 200 of course. I have a pro with the 200 on it and love it, but I have also flown a good friends pro with a 150 who flies advanced and love the way it flies as well. You could probably build one with a 150 for around 6-7k IMO.

How do you find the right builder for a project like that ??

There are several good builders for hire across the US. I know that Cam McCausey in Michigan has built many Cardens for people all over the U.S. You also have Dean Nistetter, not sure how to spell his last name.  He goes by fixedwing on the "other" site.  He is down in Texas and builds Cardens as well.  My father and I built my pro and would consider it to be as nice as any of the other pro built planes out there.  You are looking at having to spend around 2k or more to have one built.  Feel free to inbox my for more information about getting a plane built.

Basic rule of thumb is figure construction to frame up about the same cost as the kit, If you want it covered and also painted that will be more.  Of course that is for a built up kit not for assembling an ARF!!

There are several good kit manufactures  ( actually all of us )  out there and they all fly well. As for how well the kits fly. It really doesn't matter which one you buy as most will outfly the pilots capability setup right.

Talk to all the manufactures and ask how there kits build. Is it something you would like to try or have it done by someone else.

Finding a builder is not easy.

The builder that built my first kit was horrible. The plane was super heavy and he took 3 times longer than the agreed delivery date.

The buider who built my last two was awesome. The plane was built exactly as discussed and on time.

Cummincation is the key. Make sure the build knows, understands and agrees with your expectations up front.

As was said before, framing a kit usually costs the price of the kit and covering/paint would again cost about the price of the kit.
