LOL, that's funny. At any given moment at Joe Nall there is something big and cool going on somewhere. Flying RC warbirds is cool and fun but "putting on a show for the crowd" is a bit of a stretch.
PS - Sorry I read your first post quick and thought you were posting that from first person.

My mistake. I tried to copy the post off RCU. I see an admin has edited it, not sure why. I'm just quoting someone trying to extort Dave and QQ. While I didn't witness the first incident with Dave, I was sitting in my golf cart watching QQ. I remember the foamy warbird guys getting awfully close to QQ and thought it was a dickish move to be buzzing him. QQ was NOT taking up much airspace. They were trying to make a point, it failed and cost them a couple planes and some damages to QQ's. Now they want Dave and QQ to pay. You gotta have some serious metal deficiency to even make the claim that it was anyone but their own fault they crashed. I mean come on, loosing orientation because someone is hovering 100 feet away?
@Unbalanced - I am curious to know, since you where actually on the line when the incident happened with QQ. Was he actually in a flight station, and did he have a spotter?
I've seen too many times, where somebody just walks up and throws a plane into the air, with this "oh well, it's just one more plane in the air" attitude. If there was a flight station open, and QQ was in it then he has just as much right to be there as anybody else, whether he is flying 3D or not.
If he is so aware of his surroundings, as someone mentioned earlier, then he should have taken note that these guys will need to land soon, and waited or moved out of the way.

I was there seen both incidents and its a classic example of he said/ I seen. This was my first Nall in 42 years of RC everything. micros to turbines. I chose to hang out at the electric line. How comical it was, within two days it was well none ALL type and size electrics belonged there. The Chittys also had a 3D incident and the CJ clown chased them down on the road crying over it.
I was really shocked that electric 3D with thrust to weight and flight envelopes that rival any liquid fuel below 50cc, was taboo at 3D area and banished to the electric line, I also took note and issue with the The Legend Pat Harness reffered to the electric line as the foamie line, very puzzling since an electric 200mph electra was also seen in the electric line.
IHO it was pretty cool that Flex Innovations setup camp also on the electric line, and it was kind of surreal they were just blending in as nobodys flying for the fun of it, versus the usual main line high profile industry leaders. I dont think 90% of the electric line had a clue of the wealth of knowledge among them. I did and even was loaned the good prop to try out on my Carbon Z cub, as well as learning where and how the aura flight system can bind with only needing a Spektrum sateliite , something usefull with multirotors who need to add the routine so one does not have to bind satelite with a rx when using the satelite option
The FMS show clowns where just that I too had fun messin with their egos when they tried to gaggle control the line. Reminded me of old school top gun when builder of the model was required to fly it.

I don't recall specifically if he was at a station. There were quite a few guys around him while he was flying. I don't know if any of them were spotters or just spectators.
I'm not saying Dave or QQ are completely innocent. Maybe they should have used the opportunity to demonstrate proper etiquette.
What I do know is Fred (Condor060) admitted to buzzing Dave and as a result crashed his plane. Then 2 hours later either intentional or un-intentionally, QQ is in the air again during their show so they get more pissed and try to buzz QQ resulting in another crash.
Does that warrant a slanderous letter to the AMA in an attempt to extort money for their own foolishness? Hell naw.

i have a 5 year old and she can be right and wrong in her doings at the same time. you guys know what i mean? bring in a fistfull of other 5 year olds and someones going to get pi$$ed off because of this or that, wether theyre friends or strangers.
sounds like QQ and could have given them space, but if he was being attacked thats another story.
its a hobby with toy airplanes, i know, but both parties are businessmen i see. sounds like my plane needs to advertise more than your plane BS.

I can't speak to the fight between pilots, but I do know that a pilot who walks away from his pilot station to do anything is screwing up. You fly the plane first, last and always. If there is a problem that needs dealing with a spotter can handle it.
