DA-70 Alternatives

3W 70 twin. It should be on the streets now... Obviously, not as light as the DA, but with a bit more power than the DA, who cares, right.

Just say'n........Two DA 70's can be got for the price of 3dub 70. Fine motor no doubt but you can get a DA 120 for the cost of the 3 dub too! PTE makes a 72 twin that has excellent power. It is a little more powerful than EME 70 but the cylinder head fins point down and not front to back for good pass over flow of air. MLD makes a nice little 70 but prop bolt spacing is different and uses y-82 plugs vice cm-6.

The DA 85 makes great power for an engine of it's size, but weighs almost a pound more than the DA70 and has a good deal more vibration. Also a 27" prop would cause clearance issues on most airplanes made for a 70.

Overkill......fun overkill, but still overkill.

My motto is, "Overkill, it's almost enough". ;-)
