DLE 35RA Metering Valve modification??

Should the metering valve on all gas engines be modified, in particularly on a DLE 35RA, by removing the plate over the metering valve and drill and tap that little hole out to accept an 8-32 pressure nipple?

Typically, it is only bottom or front carbs that need the static port covered or a line run from it to the fuse.

I've never seen a rear carb need that mod, since it is already out of the turbulent air.
