the buzzer stops the moment that the spark occurs. do you also have the protractor looking thing to mount on the prop shaft? I would guess that if you set protractor to some reference on your engine so it is at zero when the spark occurs, and then turn the crank until the piston is at TDC, you should be able to read the degrees of advance you have. if you want 28 degrees then just set the spark to occur 28 degrees before TDC using the gap between TDC and when the buzzer stops.
Or maybe you knew that and I've got it all screwed up? it's entirely possible!
