Extreme Flight Owners Thread

Joined the EF owners club yesterday when I acquired Luv3d's 48" Edge 540t through the classifieds. I added some larger wheels, since the park I normally fly in has grass that can be a bit unkempt.

Maidened yesterday on 3s, and got in a short trimming flight. Very nice, can't wait to get some more stick time on this airframe.

Congrats- that same schemed edge was what really took me to the next level in 3d! Loved that plane so much I got the 60"!

Congrats on the maiden Matt! I kinda' like the larger wheel look!!

Glad it flew well for you.

How smooth is that motor...? :)

VGs on 48"MXS

I put Vortex Generators on my 48â€MXS. 3/16†angle stock, about 3/8†long. Both sides of wings, stab, and rudder. Have done this on a 60â€Edge as well and I really like what it did for the Edge.

First flight with the MXS with VGs today. It did what I expected, mostly. Smoothed out transition from low to high angle and gave it a more crisp feel. However, it really slowed the plane down I’m assuming from a significant increase in drag. Didn’t notice with the Edge, but it is obvious with the smaller MXS. Pop-tops were difficult and other tumbles suffered due to lack of energy entering them.

These VGs are the same size as what I put on the Edge. Maybe with the smaller airframe I need smaller VGs?

Is there any way to put smaller ones on to compare?

Anybody ever seen the vids from the Severn Bridge guys over in the UK?
Mostly flown on EF planes, so I figured I would post it up here. These guys are nuts, they do some crazy things with airplanes...

and this one is probably my favorite... can you imagine doing 3d down below you? And love the harrier landing on top of the bunker too.
