It probably would not have happened had I not been in such a hurry. I was using the plane with a buddy box on public day. I hooked up to the wrong side of the fuel tubing and actually pumped fuel through the carb and into the engine. I was in to much of a hurry to even laugh about it. Just fix it and get the plane back in the sky.
I think I am going to replace it this winter with a relatively large gas trainer that I can keep in the trailer.
I use the starter on my VV40 now and then. It still starts a harder than my DA and the starter is just easy. It also helps that on that specific plane I have a try turn spinner. I think if I had a more fragile carbon spinner on it like my other planes, I would spend more time figuring this engine out.
