I would think more in terms of "what do I want to put on this plane, that I would like on something else". It's pretty widely known that this plane was mostly a turd for modern performance so I'm guessing you'll be looking for something better soon.

Just saying, that's how I would look at it.

Thanks for checking. I am thinking a DLE35, or DLE40. Not sure if the extra weight is worth it for the twin.
Don't really think a twin will fit without cutting the cowl. I was thinking the same thing when I had mine. If you set up the rudder servo in the tail as I did mine, the extra weight is not an issue. The friend I sold mine to put a DLE 35 on it. It flew ok. Not spectacular but enough power for basic stuff. It is too bad that the RCG 50cc has been discontinued. Truly, that was my very first gas motor. I put it in a GP Edge 540. That plane was an animal and I put 55 perfect and trouble free flights on it. Motor would usually start first flip every time. The gent that has it now up Wenatchee way is still flying that motor and plane. Looks as new as the day I sold it. And that little motor is still chuggin' away like new. The RCG 50cc will turn the same size prop as a DLE 55. Mind you, that Edge came in at 16 pounds. See if you can locate one of those. That is a thought for you.

Maybe a used DA50? Should weigh the same.

I'm going to be posting a DLE55 with bowman ring and Jtec pitts muffler in the swap pages this weekend. Bought new for TheLAW's cub and only flown about 20 times before I swapped it out for a 60 twin. $400 and will include a Falcon wood prop.

A dle 55 would fit in that edge also. Weighs the same as the 40 twin. Just a thought.
