Homemade downdraft sanding table

I have been thinking about redoing my work table.. with My table saw built in one end.. and then a downdraft dust table on the other end.. this just gave me some ideas

Used weather stripping on the fan end so I can remove the panel if need be.

Very nice! Glad to see others building these and finding out the benefits for themselves, that was my goal when I started this thread! I find myself using mine almost every day as a workbench and power strip, plus overall air handler/cleaner for the shop. Can't imagine how I went so long without one!

I was sweeping my basement which usually leaves me in a cloud. Turn the table on and no dust in the air! Sweet!!!!!

I got mine built this weekend, I need to pick up another filter and wire the motor and then it is ready to run.

My down draft table. 5hp, 3900 cfm, 48"x72" surface. One of the best non-producing tools I've ever purchased. It's amazing how much cleaner the shop stays.

LOVE a wood shop that does not have mess everywhere you look. I've seen some nasty shops over the years, but always refreshing to come to work and not have junk and dust everywhere.

Nobody has given me an adequate reason that a dirty/messy shop is better than a clean one. I hate working in a disorganized mess. Drives me completely batty and a small shop is pretty easy to keep clean. Especially in the warmer months when you can keep the doors open and blow all the dust out with a leaf blower.
