Stoopid is fine, just learn from a mistake if at all possible. For some, it is not possible, and they just keep doing dumb stuff. Like a guy locally, decided to TAKE gov't property off WPAFB grounds without permission. Took it to the local field, grabbed the freq pin, yes, back when we flew on 72 MHz. Some of my friends. including my pops was out flying heli's on a Tuesday nite. Pops was checking out a Huey scale machine in a hover, and this 800mm class machine comes barreling into the pits, just missed 3 people, including pops. Ended up, local guy grabbed the wrong freq pin. Barely made any compensation to the heli he hit on the ground and the one that was flying too.
This wasn't the first time this guy done something like that before. So, just as soon as 2.4GHz come around, I jumped all over it with both feet. I was also even a victim of a "shoot down" as well. I got hosed on the whole deal. I got a new kit, and $1250. Didn't cover the cost of engine repair, new Rx and build.
Wise..... No. Just experienced at certain matters.
Mine was a AeroWorks ARF Edge 540T, the OLD red and white one. I had it 2 years, and it flew ok. Never flew great, but ok enough. I refinished it over the winter and about the 8th flight into the 3rd season, wing blows off in flight. I blew a gasket like I never have before. Had 5 guys out there helping me with the yard sale. I about hit one of them with the wing tube because I was so pissed, and was slinging parts. Yeah, that was my claim to wanka-town.
