I have been hoping for a dx12 for awhile now. I doubt it will ever happen because the dx18 price is so reasonable. I don't like the 18 because I don't need all the extra switches and crap. I have a dx9 and a dx8, my 8 is retired to my flight simulator. The 9 has been good, but I use all the channels on a 35% plane with no extra room for anything like smoke. Jr might be my next stop with the 11Using a DX-8 for mine at present but built modular , even ran an extra servo lead to tail so when I do upgrade the radio, its an easy transition. JR power safe already in place for it. Why the heck Spektrum doesn't make a 12 ch is beyond me, ill never use all 18.
And agreed dx-8 is fantastic, most of all.. I trust it.
Your argument against it doesn't seem to hold much water. It is a transmitter you like, has the same amount of switches as the DX9. Basically the same features. The biggest thing you are gaining is the ability to control more channels. So basically it fits all the needs you have and is a lot like the tx you already have and is affordable. Seems like a no brainer to me.I have been hoping for a dx12 for awhile now. I doubt it will ever happen because the dx18 price is so reasonable. To each there own. The dx18 is bigger and bulkier than the 9. I love spektrum, been using it since day 1, and haven't had any problems. No radio war here. I just wish they could do a 12 channel the size of the old jr12xYour argument against it doesn't seem to hold much water. It is a transmitter you like, has the same amount of switches as the DX9. Don't know how far you are with this project. If it were me the 9157s keep in mind at 6v they put out 425 oz of torque are awesome servos. Everyone likes HV but for Pattern and Imac I prefer the system to be regulated for consistency flight after flight. I've used the eq6 as well as some of the local guys I have flown with all with great success. For the Ign I still like battery switch regulator that way its an easy swap if I ever need to switch at the field.
