Cool I believe you can turn the voltage on the Eq6 up to 6.5 Volts which is what I always did. What people forget is we used to fly hard Freestyles with 8411 and 9351 servos two per wing on 35%ers and even 40%ers which only had 130 -180 oz of torque. Its old school but perfect example of a good ole DA 100 with 180 oz servos.

Yea, you can change the voltage to 6.5. You're right man... These servos have a ton of torque, and I really only do IMAC style flying. Occasionally I'll do my special trick the "Scrambler" which is just some crazy snap rolls mixed with a flat spin over and over or something... hahaha!

Hey, thanks for commenting! I haven't done anything yet because I'm waiting until after Christmas, but after reading a bunch I think the way it's looking... I'm going to use the Hitec HS-7954SH servos for the ailerons, with SWB arms. They're still high torque and metal, but they're about $40 per servo less... and that's a factor for me. The EQ-6 is already in there and I had one in my Mustang and really like it. For RX I'm going with either a AR9020 with twin satellites or the AR12020 with 3 satellites just for piece of mind. I'm going to use the Fromeco 7.4V Relion 5200mah batteries. And then I actually called DA and asked them about the ignition battery, and they said I could use a 6.6V Life battery unregulated, but that also they do recommend using an isolated ignition battery, which is what I like too. Just prefer isolated systems. So, hopefully I'll be ordering all this in the next week or so.

Your setup will be pretty much bullet proof with what you're doing. The 7954's will be more than enough regulated. 333 oz. each @ 6.0 volt. Over 660 ounces on each aileron is plenty. I use 2 on each aileron on my SD 260. Never had any issues with any of the serovs. Plus, since you are using the EQ-6 and Relion 5200's, you will have enough to fly an entire weekend.

As most everyone has discovered, simple and sparse...(so to speak) is the way to go. Less to fail, less to maintain, less to worry about. Logical.

Yea, I'm going to order the same arms that are on there now. I think they're SWB.

When I bought the plane it came with a JR 8711 installed with the pull-pull system. Had I built the plane new I was going to use 2 servos with direct arms... which I could still do because the PAU has the spots already cut, but I haven't decided... I don't do 3D only IMAC, and I don't mind pull-pull

8711's are a great servo. I ran mine off lipos
If they bounce around center alot do the fuzzy velcro mod.
