Is this prop safe to use ?

I purchase a used Falcon 25 x 12 C

arbon Fiber prop and when I received it it has what appears to be a crack on the back side. Is it safe to use or should I ask for my money back ?

Scrap pile , it will delaminate and then might shed a blade .

Damaged goods return it, the guy who had it didn't want to run it. Why should you?

I would say the same, but one of the best builders and designers in our club repairs those.

Though, I personally do not think its worth it.

Not worth the risk of running , if it delaminates in air you stand a chance of shaking the engine loose and more damage .Not worth the risk , just scrape it .

I seen one of those blow a ZDZ all to pieces. I have a couple, one with slight run-way rash and one with grass scrathes, hanging on the wall. One is a $200+ 3 blade, most at the club said they'd run them but this ole boy like's his two to three thousand dollar engine's to stay just as they are, as well as the airframe. Same goes for the smaller stuff, not worth the possible outcome over a prop.

I wouldn't risk it. I watched an airplane shed a blade a few years ago. I'd seen it before but this one was spectacular. The guy was a total idiot (I normally wouldn't say that, but since this guy barely missed me when he flew through the pits one day I don't feel bad for calling him an idiot) and by far the most dangerous guy in our club. He had bent his aluminum gear landing and couldn't be bothered with straightening it. He went to takeoff and bounced it on the runway and hit the prop, taking off the a tip. He NEVER got off the throttle and took off anyway. First it shed more of the prop, then by the time it got to the end of the runway the airplane came completely apart. Like I said he NEVER got off the throttle. It was a true sight to behold.

I most definitely would not use it. I would ask for my money back. Did you buy this used? I am surprised that if you did purchase it used, the seller would even offer such a questionable item.

My thoughts are if you had to ask, you already knew the answer. I wouldn't put it on my plane as others have said if it comes apart it will destroy your airframe.---Smitty

You're just a very kind person. I on the other hand am noted for speaking my mind. Not necessarily a good trait to possess. I have no problem vocalizing the idiocy of certain "wanna be" pilots. "MANY" times I would witness the same gent doing beyond questionable flying or safety techniques. One time in particular (which I lost count of all the times) he lost control of a foamy 100+ mph jet and literally drilled it in to the infield pit area not 50 feet from me. Had it not lawn darted, I would have the nose of that plane sticking out the back side of me somewhere while the tail feathers would be protruding from my front side. I was safety officer of that field at that time and thus warned this individual of the constant risky and dangerous behavior he was exhibiting. "What's the matter, you afraid of a little foamy"? was his only response. I stated openly that he is a dangerous f#@$ idiot. And yet....I was looked down upon and pushed out of the club because I, "I" was dangerous with my style of flying. Hmmm, seems odd to me that I am still flying the same planes, (other than the ones I've sold) that I have been flying since beginning the Giant scale and 3D flying. And he, as well as others in his group have lost count of the planes they've destroyed because of their mentality and practices. Personally I absolutely live to see people (idiots) like that repeatedly loose planes. (As long as no one else gets hurt), Including the B25 I lovingly built hour by hour, test flew a very successful maiden and many flights after that, then sold to this same moron...and witnessed him total it on its first voyage with him at the controls. I "OPENLY" laughed my ass off. Idiot!!!!
