We would like to start by thanking you for your interest in owning the finest and most innovative RC system ever created, the JR 28X.
From its inception, the 28X is JR's most ambitious project to date, a ground up design with industry pioneering Android Interface integration, wrapped in legendary JR quality. A monumental feat of design and engineering, the 28X has also proven to be JR's most labor intensive to develop, 3 years in total.
JR Japan has notified us of recent and unforeseen component related issues that have in turn forced the release of the 28X to be delayed.
Rather than just providing a newly updated ETA only, we would instead like to provide our 28X customers with some insight as to the cause of this delay:
As JR owners already know, when it comes to quality, JR sets the RC Industry standard. Upon their tight quality control and inspection of each and every component that goes into the making of the 28X, JR discovered several components provided by key electronics component suppliers that simply did not meet JR's high tolerance standards.
With ultra-tight component tolerance levels specified by JR to achieve unheard of precision like the 28's 65,536 stick resolution, these tolerances have not only proven to be an initial challenge to JR's engineers, but several of JR's component suppliers as well.
JR has worked closely with these component suppliers, and all tolerance issues have now been resolved. Replacement component delivery dates to JR have now been finalized. No further shipment delays are expected.
JR has confidently rescheduled the final availability date for the first 28X shipment for February 2015
