Scale JTEC 1/3 Scale Taylorcraft

My friend from Minnesota was kind enough to send along several more photos of his full scale T-craft. This one showing the wing fairings. I am pretty happy with the way they compare to the ones I made.

The weather has been so cold as of late that I haven't been able to keep my workshop at a comfortable temperature, so things have been moving ever so slowly.
I did manage to one wing finished and I am working on the aileron for the other wing. Once that is completed I am ready to start some serious covering.

Another photo of the full scale as well, appropriately in the winter.

I like 'em "BIG"!
If you haven't already got your wing fairings in place and permanent, I would offer a suggestion. I purchased at the LHS, some .30 delron (plastic) sheets to do the entrance cowl baffleing on my 260 and the tail wheel fairing on my Sukhoi. It is completely moldable with just a little heat from a heat gun. It conforms well and it is also paintable. Don't know if that helps you but just thought I would toss that out there for you.

Thanks Much!!!

Looks like a much better alternative than the roof flashing. I will definitely give it a try.

Oh, one other thing I forgot to mention. They also have available different thicknesses. I just purchased a sheet of .15 to do another project. Perhaps the thinner material would be a bit more user friendly in shaping what you need for the fairings. The LHS here carries pretty much everything here from .10 on up. The .15 sheet measures 15" x 12". Probably more than enough for what you need. Cheap too.....:way_to_go:

I covered both wings this weekend (not including the ailerons) and they took an entire roll for each side of each wing, 4 rolls total. Just a little left on each roll. I will probably use it for at least the doors.

Finished painting and trimming one of the wing fairings. I used some neoprene fuel line split down the middle to trim the edge.
