In the next couple of weeks we will be releasing both the new 2.8 meter and 3.1m MX2 builders kit. Both the 2.8m & 3.1m MX2 kits are designed in collaboration with Jason Shulman, Jerry Hailey, and ourselves to be easy building with interlocking tab construction and self aligning fuselages just like our 2.7m & 3.1m Extras. Each airplane is designed with all skill levels of building in mind.

2.8m MX2 Specs:
Wing Span: 112"
Length: 101"
Engine: 120cc

can a 150 L be put in the 2.8 version?

Cam,

I don't think it would fit in the cowl. It flies on a 100 and on a 120 it lacks nothing. A 150 will fly the 3.1 just fine. We did all the original testing with a 150 and Jerry Hailey flew a full season in IMAC on the 150 in the 3.1

Yeah, that's plenty of torque. One servo in each half. I think 300 in oz would do fine. I thik you can get away with one 500oz on the rudder without any issues.

Great news! makes set up so much easier this way. But ailerons, for sure, 2 per wing!
This will be fun! I can also do a build thread!

I am trying to convince one of the local advanced pilots, so that I build him one as well, in which case, it would be a double build! I let you know if Kyle Stewart goes for it. You may know him, he is from North Carolina, and over 7 years ago, he was active in IMAC, until he joined USAF. He will be completing his 8 years of service this Fall, and then he will be re-joining the SE IMAC conference! We will miss him.
