MEDIA BLITZ! 3DHS Tennessee Fly-Low-In - August 15-18, 2013 Knoxville, TN

So here's my first installment for Friday. The weather is perfect! Sunny, 85 degrees, light wind, a huge crowd, music from djmoose, Bivens is here, Team 3DHS is here in force. The air is full of planes, the soybean field has claimed a few victims, and we've got guys assembling planes on site.

Here's zmonster (Zach) and his dad, Mark, all the way from PA...assembling a 58" Edge on site.

By the looks of his progress, he should be done very soon.

3DeltaFly shows us his 58" Edge battery tray and CF stringer enhancements. His battery compartment makes it really easy to install and remove the battery and requires only one strap:

Rarely does an FLI occur without some unfortunate, unplanned meetings with terra firma...here is one case:



In the following case, Fred pushed his 100cc Aeroworks Edge airframe to structural failure.
While pulling out at the bottom of a downline, the right wing failed and snapped.
Examination of the wreckage shows the wing failure occurred at the point in the wing just beyond the end of the wing tube. Severe damage to the DA 120 was also identified.

guys... I am so sorry to miss this.. We had family items come up.. Sure wish to have came and supported.. Looks like a blast!!

Indeed it is, an excellent turnout, and lots of talented youngsters flying super 3D . This event will quickly make the "must attend" list if it's not there already. The team pilots and 3DHS staff are all super nice and helpful, and they can cook too! Darn good fish fry! Can we have it again tonight?-)

Saturday? Already? :O Wow time flies

Good morning! Nothing like waking to the sound of gassers taking to the skies! We flew well past sunset, and even past midnite...typically six to eight planes in the air. Some of us even stayed up "a bit past midnight"

Today the people are rolling in, the flight line is very busy, and a few Bigfoots (?) are starting to gather. Looking forward to many awesome flights, more pics, and videos from last night which are still cooking!
