The morning has started out with the alarm clock of RobJ flying his 87 and proceeded to get busy! Here are some great early morning action shots; we're smoking already! (Some good smoke, one case of not so good smoke from a crashed lipo) Of course, we're expecting alot more great action throughout the day.
Of course, the last shot in this group is a one-in-a-million shot! Never could have planned this one.
Wow! It's been a busy day and busy afternoon. So much flying going on; the raffle has started; people are building planes on the spot; the garage sale airframes are all gone; people are buying and selling airframes; good ribs and pulled pork from the fireman's food stand.
Got a new video with a few action shots from yesterday...enjoy!
Saturday morning photos. The weather was near to perfect and there was a great crowd of pilots. Interest in the raffle was also building...
There are inevitably unplanned situations at these events. In this case, the theory is that the fuel line came loose from the carb, causing a deadstick. As the pilot was landing the plane, the fuel leaking from the disconnected fuel line covered the muffler with gas which then ignited.
Saturday night was interrupted by a thunderstorm that unfortunately did cause some damage as some tents were blown away during the high winds that accompanied the weather. After a two hour rain delay, the huckin resumed full force with some really nice evening flying occurred...all in preparation for the night flying demonstrations which were conducted by an awesome group of pilots!
After the sun went down, there were some night flying demos. These were captured on video and will be posted in this spot as soon as they are finished in production and uploaded....stay tuned....opcorn:
Okay! Thanks for your patience...it takes a bit of time to go through the videos, but I made the night flying videos a priority....and here they are. There were four demo pilots on Saturday night: James Wamstead (Wamsy), John Stuart (Hugocraft), Ashleigh Heath (RC Girl), and Joe Smith (Joe Smith)
The hardest part of any Fly Low In is leaving. So many great people to hang out with and new ones to meet. Everyone there has one primary goal: to have fun flying! As this event concludes, I leave you with a video blog of some of the great folks at this event. I know there are people who I missed on this tape; PB and Lisa, I don't know how I missed you but it was pretty busy.
As you watch these clips, perhaps you will be motivated to find the FLI nearest you later this summer and make some plans to get there and meet these and other awesome 3D flying folks!
