MX2 Loses Engine In Flight!!!

Check this out...Nigel Hopkins MX2 loses the engine, which tore away most of one wing.

He safely bailed. This was during a practice session for the upcoming World Aerobatic Championships in France.

Report says the engine mount tore out of the carbon fiber fuse structure. Many pilots have a piece of cable securing the engine to the fuse, just in case of such a failure....it may keep the mass of the engine with the plane. Although it also may not .

Good thing the engine/prop didn't come back on the cockpit during its exit. Very happy he made it out OK.
