My experience is that the needle valve is the first thing to go so plan to place it as well, It is part of the kit. The carb for the photo above is a Walbro WA 58 and takes a K10-WAT kit. You can find a kit most anywhere.

I figure I will pick up a kit and put it in. Appreciate the info. I looked at your pic and noticed that I didn't answer your question about the covering. The wings have some kind of covering/paint directly on the foam. The fuselage is balsa sheeted foam.
