IMAC New Jtec Radiowave Giles 202 builders kit offical release

jtec/radiowave

70cc twin V2
We thought we would share some photos of the new Radiowave 3.1m Giles 202 that we test flew last week. As many of you know the Giles is the predecessor to the MX2 with the major difference being the straight trailing edge design that the Giles has. Since the two airplanes are so closely related and the fact that I love the G-202 it was only a matter of time before we tackled it.

We are thrilled with how the G-202 flies with no major difference is flight performance and mixing when compared to the MX2. Both planes currently have about 1% rudder to aileron mix.

Yes do a thread. I used to think the Giles was ugly but it has grown on me so much that I'm designing a 20cc profile version of it. Would love to see it in a 30% 55cc format as well.

We started cutting one out last night. We will try and get some pictures posted later. This one will probably be a personal build for Kevin. The material in this build will be a little different as we will be working on the CS version ( Competition Series ) One of the differences will be this will have solid Balsa sides rather than the open bay lightened lite ply sides as the standard version has plus this version will have more carbon. Flight profiles will be the same as everything else will remain the same. Construction will be almost identical as the standard version.

So late today we started putting things together to start a build. I wanted to just get the longerons done tonight but couldn't find my small miter box to cut them and I hate doing it by hand( wild ass cut). Kevin goes to me " how long do you want the scarf joint" Walks over to the computer, pulls up the auto cad program and in about 5 minutes walks away from the laser with a nifty little tool to cut the angles for the scarf joints.

Guess what guys, That little tool is now part of the kit!! Keeping it simple!! way to go Kevin!!
