New Leopard 5055-460kV motor. NICE!

I just received my new Leopard 5055-460kV Motor from Garret at Altitude Hobbies to replace my old washing machine motor in my 3DHS 58" Edge 540. All I can say is NIIIIICE! It came in a neat little cylinder type package, with a heavy duty "X" Mount, pre-installed bullet connectors and Female connectors for ESC. The overall quality and machining look :grrreat: After a easy mount to my Edge, I ran some quick tests with a watt meter and some of the numbers I came up with were: 1400 Watts and 67 Amps with the Xoar 16x8

My setup is:

2, SkyLipo 3 cell 3300mAH, 40C

Proton 80AH ESC

Castle 10AH BEC

Xoar 16x8

I can't wait to fly this thing! But with all the snow we had lately it will be tough :( There is a local park with a paved parking lot we might try this week so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Check out some of their other motors at Altitudehobbies.com

I will have a video of it running soon!

Let me know what you think!!!

Very cool! I just got the 720kv version of the same motor and I'm also going to put it in a 58" Edge, but with 4s.

those watt numbers sound great...I've got a 6s setup on my 58" Edge as well...hoping to try one of these motors to compare with the Motrolfly 4315-480 that I've got on it now!

It is sunny with light winds today...if I wasn't working, I'd go fly (at least for a little while...at 15 degrees I can't stay out too long...but last year I flew every month of the year, and I hope to do that again this year!

Any prop data on this motor yet NJ? I am thinking about pulling the trigger, but not sure if I should.

I'm running 4s also and I need + or - 1400watts to get the p/w I would like... I see they're only rate around 1200, but I assume this can be pushed?
