OK, with the engine all set up it's time for a bolt on test fit. Then since I don't have to mount a throttle servo in the bottom of the engine box I cut a hole out under the carb in case of any drips during priming. Everyone knows what the inside of a 100cc cowl ends up looking like after a ton of flight time:eek:.

So along with that I decided to mix up some epoxy resin and thin it about 40-50% with alcohol and paint the inside of the engine box. Since it really does not add any real weight I painted the entire floor under the fuel system and also the bottom and sides of the landing gear area for exhaust residue sealant as well.

Well, this seems to be my quest for my slowest ARF assembly of all time!! Got back to the shop after some business and got a few more things done.

Sealer dried up nicely so I was able to bolt up the engine. Wicking CA into the firewall stock hardened it nicely. I did modify a "spot on" arm for my choke that works very much like the ones that come with the ZDZ engines. I did use a metal file to make a slight flat spot on the shaft for the set screw to lock into.

All bolts tight, engine installed.....

I was looking at the exhaust. I know Joe is working on options so I was going to just bolt on some DLE111 mufflers that I had new in package. Well, they stick out a little too far on the front and would have to cut a fair hole for them in this particular cowl. I had a DLE111 on the shelf that had Jtec mufflers. They will interfere with the cowl as well but slightly less, so they are going on. When ZDZ has has the new muffs in stock I'll get a set and if they clear I will just order a new cowl.

I decided to put some tubes aimed at the needles to make adjustment much easier. Just laminated a couple of layers of lite-ply and installed them with medium CA. Used a little Goop to hold them in place and help absorb vibration.

Lastly is just some servo boxes I made for the throttle and choke.

Got done with work today and wanted to get a little done on the Edge, I'm itching to get out flying with this baby! I got all surfaces hinged, went over the covering with an iron just to check seams (no wrinkles even after sitting out for a couple weeks now). Servos are un-boxed and ready for install.

Getting closer, it will run this weekend.....maybe maiden if we're lucky.

Fuel system in, all wiring complete, servos installed, ailerons balanced. Pretty much coming down to cowl, baffles, canopy and landing gear.
