No worries Terry. I trust your advice. You and Herve should definately know the best way to do it. I'll likely go with the thumb screws @Matt Carruthers recommended.
I love the Emcotec fuelers. I've used those on several models and I have them on order for the Viper. I'll go with a pin style switch but I'm not sure where I'll mount the fuelers. Pulling screws (even thumb screws) to refuel doesn't really appeal to me but I really hate things sticking through the side of the airframe.
I'm with ya there brother. Sometimes I can be quite anal and this one is a biggie for me. Why?....why cut all those ungodly holes in a fuselage and dirty up a beauty with all that un-needed crap when it's just simply not necessary?I really hate things sticking through the side of the airframe.
One day I'll bet this airplane might even fly...As for the system, you can go with the simple pin-flag switch. It's pretty unobtrusive to begin with but can be flush mounted with a little work. I'd post a pic, but it only looks like a tiny stainless donut
For fuel/smoke dots....well real planes have fillers so why not! If you can put them in a scale location, even better!!!
