Kelly, according to the tracking number your carbon fiber leaf is out for delivery. You should have it this afternoon.

:woohoo!: Great and thanks so much Rob. Could not have timed it better brother. Getting ready to pull the cowl too and address the CG issue. Going to get "Creative" with it :sneaky:. What I think I might also do is have my buddy Raiko paint matching yellow checkers on the spinner. That way the original CF gloss will still show. @Decal Dennis hopefully can hook me up with some "popin" graphics :). I am really liking this plane and scheme now. Want to fly the DL50 some more on it. May just keep it on but that DJ72 would be Ideal for this plane.

Edit.....

Got the 8oz weight (old 3W drill guide from my 3W days) moved as far forward as I could get it. Need to make some balance tab extensions and strap the batteries back on. Then it's flight test No.2 :)

Wow that is nicely done to get the weight as far forward as possible to minimize the added weight. But the added weight of 8 oz must still bug you but that is best you can do with the situation that was presented. Will be interesting to see how it flies now. New planes are always a work in progress. It always takes me almost a hole season to get a plane just right.

Thank you but I'm already thinking about doing it over again. Put it over the engine instead of on the side. That way it is hidden and leaves more room to access the choke lever. But doing that leaves a problem of bracing. The weight will want to vibrate much harder because it is in the same linear plane as the piston movement :face-palm:. Always something :concern:.

I say ditch the dead weight and mount the batteries on the sides of the engine box. I honestly couldn't sleep at night knowing a big ol booger of dead weight was strapped to the front of my otherwise beautiful plane. :)
