I fly at an awesome field! I put up over a dozen flights yesterday under ideal conditions. Really appreciative. :epic:

@Jefflesh was over today... we worked on covering his Pilot Extra fuse.

I cut out the worn out hinges (there are only four on each elevator half, and they were totally shot after 30 flights) on my new elevators and replaced them with seven Robart hinges. I would like all these planes to come with the holes jig drilled for Robart hinges but have no hinges glued in. I'd prefer to do it myself. It's SO much faster than cutting out bad hinges and re-hinging. I really like that Pilot RC does not glue in the firewall. It's really nice to do it myself and know it is solid.

The filter I pulled out of Joe McBride's carb today... he's still flaming out in high G maneuvers, though (after I cleaned it).

My purple 122" Extra has 62 flights on it, and while the rudder and elevator hinges were failing at 5 flights, the aileron hinges were still more or less okay at 62 flights. Not so with my blue 122" Extra. The rudder and elevator hinges also failed quickly, but the aileron hinges failed, as well, at 34 flights. I'm cutting out the 9 junk hinges on each aileron and replacing them with 13 Robart round hinges. Really wish Pilot RC would just jig drill for round hinges and let us glue them in ourselves. It's so much faster than cutting out their junk hinges and dealing with all that.

Problems or no... with around 100 flights on my 122" Pilot RC Extras... reality is... these are my favorite planes to fly of all time. :) I'm really tuned in to my new blue one. It even does the 2016 IMAC Unlimited sequence pretty well... with the 2 roll roller from inverted, outside and then inside, looking pretty darn nice.

Holy crap, just saw that filter pic! Wow. I use a Walbro filtered clunk in my fuel jug and a largeaw mower filter on the outside just before the pump. I have engines that are 4 years old and still done nothing but look at the screen every spring and nothing to be found.
