Pilot RC 107" Extra 330SC

Mr. Joe Hunt is starting a 107 build and is letting me help out, first task was to cut out the hinges on the wings and stabs and replace them with Robart 3/16 pin hinges.

One challenge is to make sure the pin hinges are completely true between the wings and control surfaces.

I built the fixture in the pictures below to do just that.

I ordered the drill press from Amazon and the steel was from Home Depot. The round tubs in the middle help position the wing / control surface and is slightly wider than the 3/16 drill bit.

Still have some minor modifications to make be the fixture worked very good.

These Pilot RC planes are all tightly X braced up. Really tough to work in (great once you're flying)... so I took @Spats lead and am putting in a tube for my wires to the tail. I wasn't finding anything I wanted until @Tavis said he was trying fluorescent light tube covers, so I got these:

I've known Deano since day one of his jerseymodeler.com business. He's always had these twist connector fuel dots and vent dots, and sets up his fuel cans to work with them. But, I was always into standard fuel dots. Anyway, at my home field spilling gas is against the rules. So, I'm going with the JM system this time:
