Pilot RC 42% Edge 540.

Hi fellas,



Just pulled the trigger on a Pilot RC 42% Edge. Been thinking on my servo set up and though I am not a hard 3D flyer, I'm more of the slow and lazy 3D, I'm wondering if one Hitec 8911 on the rudder is enough or two 7950's. My gut is telling me to go with two servos but I was curious as to what some of your set ups are and to get some feedback.

I have the same plane and am using 2 7950's. Don't think I would attempt one servo on the rudder as it is a huge plank sticking out there



BTW, you will LOVE the plane! I have a 3w 150 TOC on canisters and it has unlimited vertical. Swinging a 32x10 Mej.

I built it with 2 savox 1231's on a push pull setup. 888oz/in total .12 speed and $75 each

My buddy has 3 Pilot RC servos on the rudder of his.

Sounds like the kind of flying I do.

Mine has over 100 flights this season. Works well.

2 X 9157 Futaba (425oz each)

My 3.1M Sukhoi has 2 X 1230 Savox, same idea.

Yea I would definitely run 2. I am running 2 JR8711's and its just barely enough. Any less and I think you will see some blowback on knifedge loops and even pulling out on fast KE.

I also just picked one of these up. Mine is the 21 scheme. Im going to run push pull fitted with 2 Savox 2231's in the tail and Savox 1270TG's every where else. I have a a 3W 157CS w/ Jtech tuned pipes for a motor. Hope fully will be a good bird.
