    Welcome!

Pop goes the prop!

But wood is so much louder, and wood compresses at the hub, so you have to make sure to tighten them often. (or be sure they are still tight)
Even when I ran wood props, I tightened then up when I put them on and then after the first 5 flights. Never checked them again, except for maybe over the winter. Never had one blow off. Popped a prop bolt, but thats it.

@ WACIBIPE . It's not that there's so many, around 120 members, but enough of the big one's that keep throwing props. After seeing the damage in flight delam can cause I am not willing to use them.

He wasnt attacking you, holmes. He was just asking how many folks fly at your site. It may have come across wrongly, but it doesnt warrant an answer like you gave.

I just got home from the Extreme 3D event in KY. Most everyone there had a CF prop on something or another. We didnt have any issues this weekend with delams.

I dont even think I have seen a Falcon CF prop delam from the wooden core on the blades. Seems to happen mostly to the "hollow" bladed CF props.

I corrected my thought's above a bit.
Now that you mention it, all that I have seen have been the hollow core blades. And it may even be a certain group whom have issue with bumping them around or something.

Man, anything is possible in this hobby. :)

It is all a risk that we all take. I seen a Mejzlik delam last year at the same fly in I just came from. It is a sound that you will never forget. It can happen, even if they don't get bumped on the ground. It could have been a Monday or a Friday prop......

I didn't see the original post but I also realize my post was made in a perhaps more aggressive tone than I meant. I was just curious as I've never seen it. My club flies smaller airplanes ( 500 cc on average for hpthe serious guys) and a carbon fiber prop is relatively rare so that explains at least part of my not seeing this.
