Next installed the composite main landing gear got all the bolt holes to line up perfectly for a change. Nice easy install and with not to much difficulty to reach the nuts on the inside.

The gas tank is in and at the CG location. The only problem is because the 3 cylinder engine is so long the firewall is 8 inch further back this leaves no space for tank. It had to be elevated which in turn I had to remove some structural components. Now that the tank is in place the structure needs to fixed.

Got the X brace in probably more than it needed to be but it is at the same location as the wing tube so a little more rigidity is a good thing. Still need to glue in a rear motor brace glued in. Ok next thing to do is cut into bottom cowl and add all the air cooling vent louvres out of the engine compartment.

Let me know I am almost to the end of the wood building part. Just posting small incremental building changes I don’t think to many are that interested. Let me know if all the smaller details are of any interest. I can just finish off the details of the build and show some pictures of the covering and final radio installation. Let me know.

Ok just some details, because of the fuselage extensions the standard plastic wing bolts are a a little short. So I needed to make some wing bolts. I am a little anxious of using plastic wing bolts on a plane this size so made up a 1/4-20 aluminum wing threaded rods.

Just another small detail. Just the way I do wheel axles. Do not like standard wheel axels used on planes. Use an allen head bolt grade at-least 8.8 , use the following parts one bolt, 2 nylon washers, 2 aluminum washers, 1 hex nut cut in half, and 1 locknut, assemble with graphite powder. (Cut the nut down to get the wheel as close to the gear as possible).
Assembly bolt, plastic washer, wheel, plastic washer, hex nut, aluminum washer, landing gear, aluminum washer, lock nut. Then tighten the hex nut down onto the wheel just to give a little bit of drag then install the assembly onto the gear.
