Scale Scale flaps & ailerons for Balsa 1/3 Super Cub

The kit contains the wood and metal parts to build and hinge the ailerons. The controls are provided by the builder. When I first built the plane I was using under wing controls for both flaps and ailerons. As the build progressed and more scale detail was added, I decided to go back and made the controls more scale like. Attached are some examples of what was added.

You do beautiful work. I have a sheet metal and machine shop here at the house and intend to add most of if not all the metal parts you have used. I can fab the brake rotors and probably the fuel caps on the lathe. I hate to pick your brain for so much info but do the fairings on top of the wing come in the aileron kit. Also, is that your Cherokee in your post? I used to have a PA-12 Super Cruiser that I put flaps, Super Cub tail, extended baggage and other mods on. It's in Alaska now. You can google the N number 4303M and see some pics of it. I wish someone made a giant scale PA12, I would have bought it instead but nobody makes one. Back in 1985 I took a tour of the old Cub factory in Lock Haven, Pa. where most of the cubs were made. Taylorcraft were using part of it making T crafts then.

Yes, the Cherokee is 1/4 scale ARF from RC Guys. I removed the factory covering and used photos from the net. The plane that I modeled it after is owned by Forrest Barber from Alliance Ohio, he owns the Barker Airport there. I added the wheel pants and Robart struts to the build. The plane won the Best scale Piper Cub award at Wings over Piper in 2015.

TonyHallo

I forgot to ask what fairings are you talking about? The trailing edge? Don't worry about picking brains, that's why we post here, to learn and share.

I mounted both the flap and aileron servo under the fuel tank cover near the root of the wing. The aileron is a pull-pull arrangement with scale horns, the flap is push pull hidden in the wing.

Wow, nice work. Good stuff for my Cub build as well.
