IMAC Scroll Saw Blade Recommendations

Alky6

150cc
Have a scroll saw coming for Christmas to help with my builds. Need some recommendations on pinless blades/types for:
1. thin balsa 1/8” or lesss
2. Balsa 1/4” - 1/2”
3. 1/8” light ply
4. 1/8” ply

Have straight cuts and curved and inside and out. Ribs, fuse framing, balsa for shaped cowls, etc. Pretty much everything needed to cut and build from plans.

Thanks in advance!

Mcmaster.com has almost everything you could want for a home shop. I've got a scroll saw that goes through blades and I've been meaning to look into better quality blades also so please post when you find something! Bi-metal is usually the sign of better quality blades with high speed steel being not as good.

Good luck!

I used to have the big expensive one from Dremel. It didn't last one season. I bought the one from harbor freight about 10 years ago. It's still going strong. I buy blades at Lowes or Home Depot or even Harbor freight. They last a long time if you don't force things! I cut everything from balsa to aluminum. no problem. This saw used to be $79.99 but I see it is now $94.99! Must be the damned tariffs. haha.

Looked at that one the other day as well (in person). Looks to be well built. How are the adapters to use the pinless blades? Easy to change the blades?
