Servos Locked Up

What are you running for a bec or rx pack? It sounds like the servos are not good if others will work in their place. I have not looked at thw hs servos at all are they the same wire pinout as others ie the power and ground are on the correct orientation to the beveled edge of the plug? Are you using extensions or did you solder longer leads on? It is possible to push the plug in backwards especially on the 7 + ch rx which has some give to the plastic. Also and not to sound like a smart ass or anything have you verified the battery is wired correctly? Working on electronics you want to start at step 1 and re check everything. I assume you tapped or shrink wrapped the motor leads so they could not touch each other? That is a lot of power and wouldnt take much to arc out. Sorry so short rushed morning..

Well the BEC is internal to the Talon 90. All wire and connections have been checked and recheck. Remember everything was working just fine for quite some time before it happen. The servo extensions are short from 4" to I think 10". Thing is... If something was to go bad because I wire was in wrong it would of happen as soon as I put power to it not well after and on multiple runs.

This hobby can be so frustrating in so many ways..... I read your story Bush, I think you should call Hitec tomorrow morning and discuss it with them.

@3DMIKE sorry man, but i have already taken the servos out of the plane. However, I can use some servos I have sitting around and connect them the same way I did the 5245's if you like? Well just short of actually connecting them to the airframe. The others are larger and I don't want to cut into that unless that is the last option, which it may very well be. That will all depend on what Hitec say's.

You just talked to me on the phone about the issue, really I'm kind of scratching my head as to why you're having so many problems. The first 4 likely got fried when the ESC fried, it probably sent the full pack voltage to the servos so that's why it took those out. ExtremFlight should take care of the AirBoss ESC, if not SupaTim. We'll take care of the servos.

I don't know why 2 additional servos went kaput, the 5245 is a pretty bulletproof servo. All I can tell you is to check and make sure the Talon is infact set to 6 volts and not 7.4 volts. Get the servos to us an we will take care of them whether we repair or replace them. Generally the techs don't upgrade to higher end components unless we have to, but it's something you will have to talk it over with the tech.

Yeah man...Thanks very much Xpress. I to am scratching my head brother. I just rechecked the Talon to make sure it is set to 6V and it is good to go. Seriously boggles my mind. Everything in this bird is new now except for the motor. LOL maybe I should replace that too. Might as well get a new Radio while Im at it hugh. Been wanting a new TX anyway... Maybe get a Hitec Aurora 9X.

Everything on the ESC looks like it's set to defaults. I was more interested in the seeing pics of how everything was connected etc. But it sounds like everything is torn apart and being sent back to manufacturers etc.. I just can't understand how all of these esc's and servos are getting fried, it's really bazaar!

You may want to go get yourself a voltage regulator from [MENTION=2628]ServoCity[/MENTION] like this one and put it between the battery and the esc/bec to take that extra precaution not to fry anything else once you get it all back. They are only $14 and I would think that would grant you peace of mind.
